VIIY 1.0.1 — keying by colour, an eyedropper, and effects that see the keyed frame
A small release that fixes what the first week of use showed, and changes one control that the first week showed was wrong.
- Chroma Key keys by a colour you pick. The hue slider is gone. Click the swatch for a palette, or click the eyedropper and then the picture in CUE EDITOR — the key becomes the colour under the cursor. Tolerance and softness now measure chroma distance, so a shadow on the blue screen still keys and black or white never sticks to the key. Shows saved in 1.0.0 open unchanged: the old hue becomes the same colour.
- An eyedropper next to every colour parameter of a layer effect — Tritone, Fire, Spill suppression and any ISF shader with a colour input. One gesture: click the pipette, click the picture.
- ISF effects now see the keyed frame. An ISF shader placed after Chroma Key or Luma Key used to see the original picture underneath the transparency — motion trails would follow the crowd the keyer had just removed. What the key removes is now gone for the effect too, and light an effect adds over the keyed-out area shows when the shader gives it alpha.
- ISF parameter fields show decimals for small ranges: a value of 0.93 no longer displays as 1, and the arrows step in sensible increments.
- The assistant knows how to write effects that start from one colour — the dress, the red light — with a colour input, a tolerance and an "any colour" switch, picked with the same eyedropper.
